Meet Zeke! This adorable Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd mix is around 7 months old and ready to have fun with you! Cattle Dogs and Aussies are smart, hard-working herding breeds. Zeke is no exception and is a quick learner and very food motivated. He needs a family that will continue that training and help him grow to be his best self. Zeke is looking for an active family that can channel his intelligence and energy in positive ways. He has a lot of energy to spare and loves to play with toys and run around the backyard. He does great on his leash and would be a great dog to hit the trails with and as a running buddy. Typical of his breed mix, Zeke has some herding tendencies so we recommend a home with no young children. He is house trained in his current foster home and knows how to use a dog door. Zeke is crate trained and should be crated while you are gone otherwise he is a little too smart for his own good and gets into mischief! Zeke can be nervous in new situations and would love a dog friend or two to help him build his confidence. He is currently fostered with 3 other dogs and does well with them with occasional reminders to slow it down and who is boss. He is working on not jumping up on people to give them hugs, not stealing food off the counters, and not barking at strangers. Sometimes he has a lot to say! His foster mom says he is a lover boy and wakes his family up with kisses and nibbles on the nose. After burning off his energy, he loves cuddle time on the couch or in bed. Zeke is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young active, intelligent pup. If you are interested in meeting Zeke, your first step is to submit an online adoption application.
