Meet Hippie! This groovy girl is around 1 year old and is a Shepherd and Lab mix. She is a friendly and sweet girl who gets along well with dogs and kids. If she lives with a playful pup, she’s super playful! Right now, she lives with an old grumpy pup and is very respectful of his space. Hippie loves to go for walks and gets super excited when you get her leash out. She pulls at first, but after the excitement wears off, she is very polite and walks right by your side. Unless she sees a cat… just get ready for a nice jolt (we’re working on this)! She is crate trained but tends to bark when left alone if she is the only dog in the house. We’ve learned that she does very well in her crate if there is another dog in the home. Because of this, Hippie would do best with a doggy sibling or a single family home with a yard that she has access to. She definitely knows how to use a doggy door! She is housetrained in her current foster home but is still learning a few additional house manners, like what she can and can't chew on. But she responds very well to correction. Hippie is playful, likes soft squeaky toys and rope toys, and enjoys a good game of chase. Afterwards she will lay her head on you and enjoys getting her ears massaged. Hippie is gentle and sweet with children. She recently had hip surgery and won't be ready for adoption until mid August. If you are interested in meeting Hippie when she becomes available, please submit an adoption application on our website. If you've adopted from us before or are already approved to adopt, reach out to your adoption coach for the next steps.

This information is as up to date and accurate as possible for the dog in its current environment. All dogs and puppies will need time and training to adjust to their new surroundings and to learn the rules of their new home. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the Adoption Form on our website at www.labsandmore.org and take some time to review our adoption process. Your adoption includes the spay or neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, and other services provided while in our care. The safety and health of our puppies is priority one, so we only allow approved applicants to meet and handle puppies. Please understand everything we do is for the dogs and conducted by our kind and generous volunteers. We rely solely on donations, and we do not profit from a dog's adoption. Labs and More is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates on donations and time dedicated to this cause by volunteers. Your adoption will save the life of future dogs in need. Labs and More makes no guarantees regarding the behavior, breed, or age of the dogs in our care. Although we strive to provide necessary medical care to dogs in our care, we cannot predict future or current medical needs whether they were symptomatic or not at the time of adoption.
