Yarn will wind her way around your heart! She is a red Shepherd mix - maybe with Lab or Ridgeback, and something smaller to give her her petite stature- and is around 3 years old. Yarn came to Labs and More with her 4 puppies who found their forever homes and now it's her turn. Yarn is a little shy at first, but she warms up given time and space. She loves gentle human affection and will lean into her human for pets. Chin scratches are her favorite and she'll close her eyes and smile with such contentment when you give them! Her tail is a short bobbed tail, about 1/3 the length you'd expect, and oh so cute! She takes some time getting used to new places and surroundings, but she gets more courageous and curious each day. She is fostered with a 12 year old boy and does well with children around that age. She is a little timid around quick movements and loud noises so would probably do best in a home with children over 10 years old.

Yarn is house trained and crate trained in her current foster home. She would love some outdoor space - be it a yard or shaded patio - to enjoy the fresh San Diego and take a snooze. She knows "sit" and "down' and has perfect leash manners. She enjoys her daily leisurely strolls around the neighborhood but has no interest in being your jogging buddy. She does like going on adventures and would love a home where she can go camping with her family, explore hiking trails, and wade in the water at Fiesta Island. Yarn has met a few dogs and has done well. She is also good with the cat she is fostered with. She likes to play with toys but instead of destroying them, she prefers to carry them around, play gently with them and sleep with them. Yarn recently finished treatments for a reversible medical condition and will be ready for adoption at the end of July. If you are interested in meeting Yarn when she is ready, please submit an adoption application on our website. If you are a previous Labs and More adopter or have already been assigned an adoption coach, please reach out to your adoption coach for the next steps.

This information is as up to date and accurate as possible for the dog in its current environment. All dogs and puppies will need time and training to adjust to their new surroundings and to learn the rules of their new home. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the Adoption Form on our website at www.labsandmore.org and take some time to review our adoption process. Your adoption includes the spay or neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, and other services provided while in our care. The safety and health of our puppies is priority one, so we only allow approved applicants to meet and handle puppies. Please understand everything we do is for the dogs and conducted by our kind and generous volunteers. We rely solely on donations, and we do not profit from a dog's adoption. Labs and More is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates on donations and time dedicated to this cause by volunteers. Your adoption will save the life of future dogs in need. Labs and More makes no guarantees regarding the behavior, breed, or age of the dogs in our care. Although we strive to provide necessary medical care to dogs in our care, we cannot predict future or current medical needs whether they were symptomatic or not at the time of adoption.
